Artist’s Statement

My work is an investigation of form, earthen materials, and their interactions with intense prolonged exposure to a river of fire and ash. Using wood as a fuel to turn dry mud into ceramic material was the original process available to potters thousands of years ago. I’m proud to be able to continue this age-old and extremely variable method of collaboration with our natural resources.
