Artist’s Statement

I’ve been a visual artist for 30 years.  My work is primarily pastel, but also work in acrylic, oil and watercolor.  New England landscapes are a favorite theme in my paintings.  My style is simplistic with a focus in color and light as it relates to nature and the landscape.

I am inspired by my favorite places and surroundings.  I love being outdoors walking, hiking, bicycling, or working in my gardens.  This truly reflects my subject matter. 

What’s important to me in my art is bringing to life the ordinary.  Observing nature and all that it has to offer.
